Baxter+Co were engaged to rejuvenate the interiors of Jonah’s 11 guest rooms, with a brief to create elegant and opulent rooms that would leave a lasting impression on guests. One of Australia’s most prestigious ocean retreats, Jonah’s is known for its 180-degree views, acclaimed restaurant, famous guests and luxurious rooms.
We responded to the brief with a human-centred focus on the guest – considering their comfort, experience and how they will use the space. The tones, textures and colour palette take inspiration from the Northern Beaches lifestyle and surrounds. The vertical linear elements in the joinery and wall panelling combine with accents of navy upon soft white and oatmeal to offer a contemporary nod to the nautical influence. While gold and brass accents in the joinery and wallpaper add a sense of luxury and opulence.
